"Gentlemen of Bacongo" (Trolley Books), is a new book by Daniele Tamagni that celebrates a group of dandies in the most unlikely of style capitals -- the heart of the Congo Republic.
While these men look fabulously natty, what makes these images so compelling is the way they stand out among such scenes of abject poverty -- they pose in their Sunday best in weed-filled lots and peacock through the streets crowded with trash and half-dressed children.
"We respect other people, we don't like war, we like peace, and we have a moral code that is very Christian," explains one dandy in the book.
